The Jandy Sacrificial Anode is an ideal addition for pools with salt systems because it keeps corrosion at bay by drawing corrosive materials in the water away from susceptible parts and equipment. Made from zinc, the small metal rod is designed to attract small stray electrical current and potentially harmful minerals present in the water that can oxidize metal — essentially “sacrificing” itself to the electrochemical reaction and protecting the heat exchanger and any other exposed metals.
