Diatomaceous Earth or D.E. DE filters are considered one of the most effective filter options for trapping dirt and debris in water. At Vita Filters, our D.E. pool filters deliver trusted and trouble-free performance, easy maintenance, and clean pool water.Â
The unique grid shapes of D.E. pool filters make them more effective at trapping dirt while making maintenance easier. D.E. pool filters provide better performance for longer periods between cleanings--giving you more time to enjoy your pool and letting you spend less time backwashing.
While all D.E. swimming pool filters require regular backwashing, our D.E. filter designs make cleaning simple. And with a durable, corrosion-resistant tank, you'll have years of dependable filtering.
What is a d.e. pool filter?
A DE (Diatomaceous Earth) pool filter is a type of filter commonly used in swimming pools to remove impurities from the water. It uses diatomaceous earth, a fine powder made from fossilized remains of tiny aquatic organisms called diatoms, as the filtration medium.
DE filters work by passing water through grids coated with diatomaceous earth. The earth acts as a sieve, trapping particles like dirt, debris, and even microscopic contaminants. These filters are known for their excellent filtration capabilities, capturing particles as small as 2-5 microns, which is finer than what sand or cartridge filters can typically achieve.
One of the advantages of DE filters is their high efficiency in cleaning pool water. However, they require regular maintenance, including backwashing and adding fresh DE powder, to ensure optimal performance.
