WHAT ARE CHLORAMINES?

  • Chloramines are an inorganic compound (NH2Cl) created by adding a small amount of ammonia to chlorine
  • Like chlorine, chloramines are used by municipalities to make water safe to drink by killing organisms, bacteria, and viruses that may cause waterborne illnesses
