Replacing Your Commercial Water Filter Cartridge

Replacing Your Commercial Water Filter Cartridge

Commercial water filtration systems are a critical component of foodservice operations. Coffee and tea are 98% water. Fountain beverages are 83% water. Ice is 100% water. And combi ovens and steamers need water to work. Following manufacturer instructions for regularly replacing water filter cartridges helps ensure the quality and taste of food and drink and the performance and longevity of water-using equipment. To get the most out of your foodservice water filtration system, Vita Filters recommends choosing genuine replacement cartridges.

The frequency of filter changes depends upon your water quality and your water usage. For example, if there is a lot of sediment and/or particulates in your water, then you will have to change your filters more frequently than in a location with little to no sediment.

  1. Watch for changes in your water:  Be sure to replace your filters whenever you notice a decline in performance, whether it is a drop in flow rate or an unusual taste in the water.
  2. Check your water pressure:  Check the pressure gauge when water is flowing. If the pressure gauge needle falls into the red zone, it's time to replace your cartridges.
  3. Replace filters every 6 months:  When it's time to replace your cartridges, take a permanent marker and write the date you're replacing them right on the new cartridges. Then, change them in six months for the most proactive protection.

You might be surprised what you'll find if you don't change the cartridge in your commercial water filtration system. A dirty filter equals dirty water. This can cause significant corrosion to expensive equipment and result in off-tasting food and drink.

Genuine Pentair Everpure cartridges are the only way to keep your foodservice water filter system running properly and uphold its certifications. When it's time to replace the cartridge in your system, it's easy to find the Pentair Everpure cartridge you need. Many of the best-selling Pentair Everpure systems and replacement cartridges can be found in their Quick Reference Guide.
