A salt generator, or salt chlorine generator, typically works best in pool water temperatures above 60°F (16°C). Below this temperature, the generator’s efficiency drops significantly, and it may stop producing chlorine altogether. For optimal performance, keep your pool water between 70°F and 100°F (21°C to 38°C).
