To tell if a Pentair salt cell is bad, check for warning lights or error codes on the control panel, such as "Low Salt" or "Cell Fault." Visually inspect the cell for heavy scale buildup or damaged plates. If cleaning the cell doesn’t resolve the issue and chlorine levels remain low, the cell may need replacement.
