On a Solaxx PureChlor power supply, a red “System Error” light means the PSU has detected a fault and will stop/limit chlorine output. The number of small output LEDs lit above the CL2 button is the error code you use to diagnose it. What the common System Error codes mean (by LED count):
- System Error 1 = No/low salt or a connection problem (salt low, dirty/aging cell, air in cell, corroded/loose connections).
- System Error 2 = Over-current / debris stuck in the cell blades (or a failing cell/PSU depending on the follow-up diagnostic).
- System Error 3 = Temperature sensor / temp-sensor wiring issue (or PSU failure depending on test results).
- System Error 4–7 = Critical PSU fault → typically PSU replacement required (not field serviceable).
- Note how many output LEDs are lit (that’s your code).
- If it’s Error 1: verify salt is at least ~3500 ppm, clean the cell, and inspect/clean all connections for corrosion.
- If it’s Error 2: power off, check for debris in the cell, rinse with a strong hose spray (don’t stick tools between blades).
- If it’s Error 4–7: treat as a PSU failure (replacement).
